A few showers Wednesday; Very warm Thursday

High temperatures today reached the middle 60s away from the shoreline with plenty of sunshine. Light winds out of the east kept temperatures cooler at the shoreline, where afternoon highs reached the upper 50s. A brief cool down is on the way tomorrow, then the warmth will return Thursday.

Clouds are moving in from the southwest this evening. The big storm system over the Plains which produced an outbreak of severe weather will bring us some showers tomorrow, but nothing severe for our area. Showers are most likely during the morning, then again in the late-evening. In fact, we should end up with a few hours of dry weather during the afternoon.

Temperatures will start in the 40s during the morning with a few showers moving through Northeast Michigan. Periods of dry weather and even some sunshine are expected in the afternoon with high temperatures in the upper 50s. Especially near the shoreline, winds out of the southwest will limit afternoon temperatures. During the late-evening, another round of showers is expected.

On Thursday, some sunshine combined with a breeze out of the southwest will likely bring afternoon temperatures into the lower 70s! Friday is looking a bit cooler with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Then dry weather and another day high temperatures in the 70s is expected on Saturday.

Although showers are in the forecast for tomorrow, periods of dry weather are expected in the afternoon. Temperatures will warm significantly on Thursday with skies likely remaining dry. The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases for Friday afternoon and evening.
