5th Down: Week Six
Another week of high school football is officially in the books. WBKB Sports visited several schools in the area to bring you all of the highlights from week six.
The Rogers City Hurons (3-3) hosted the Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals (3-3) for their homecoming matchup. The Hurons came out on top with the 40-32 victory over the Cardinals. Rogers City heads to Mio on October 6, and Whittemore-Prescott is set to face Gaylord St. Mary (4-1) on October 7.
The Alcona Tigers (5-1) welcomed in the Onaway Cardinals (3-3) on Friday. The Tigers defeated the Cardinals by a final score of 52-6. Coming up, Alcona travels to Au Gres-Sims on October 6 and Onaway hosts Central Lake (3-2) on October 5.
The Au Gres-Sims Wolverines (6-0) visited the Mio Thunderbolts (1-5) in their homecoming game. The Wolverines took the 66-12 victory over the Thunderbolts. On October 6, the Wolverines host Alcona while the Thunderbolts welcome in Rogers City.
The Charlton Heston Patriots (0-6) paid a visit to the Atlanta Huskies (2-4) on Friday. Atlanta came away with the 56-12 win over the Patriots. Next week, the Huskies visit the Hillman Tigers (1-5) on October 6.
