5th Down: Week Four
Another week of high school football has officially wrapped which means it’s time for the 5th Down. WBKB Sports travelled around the area to catch highlights of all the week four action.
The Atlanta Huskies (1-3) hosted the Rogers City Hurons (2-2) on Thursday night. The Hurons came away with the 34-24 victory over the Huskies. Rogers City hosts St. Ignace (4-0) and Atlanta is set to visit Whittemore-Prescott on September 22.
The Alpena Wildcats (1-3) welcomed in the Cadillac Vikings (3-1) on Friday night. The Vikings pulled away with the 53-23 win over Alpena. The Wildcats visit the Petoskey Northmen (2-2) on September 22 at 7 p.m.
The Au Gres-Sims Wolverines (4-0) hosted the Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals (2-2) for their homecoming game. The Wolverines put on a high-scoring show grabbing the 76-8 win over the Cardinals. Au Gres-Sims is set to visit the Hillman Tigers and Whittemore-Prescott hosts Atlanta on September 22.
The Alcona Tigers (3-1) paid a visit to the Hillman Tigers (0-4) on Friday. Alcona defeated Hillman by a final score of 56-0. Alcona goes on to host the Charlton Heston Patriots (0-4) and Hillman welcomes in the Wolverines on September 22.
The Oscoda Owls (1-3) hosted the Elk Rapids Elks (1-3) for their Hall of Fame game on Friday. The Owls suffered a 30-0 loss to the Elks. Up next, Oscoda visits the Tawas Braves (1-3) to compete in a rivalry game on September 22.
