WASHINGTON, D.C. – During his last full day in office, President Donald Trump issued dozens of pardons. One included his former Chief of Staff Steve Bannon, who was arrested and charged back in August with defrauding donors to a private fund-raising effort called We Build the Wall.
President Trump also commuted sentences of several people, including ex-Detroit Mayor Kwami Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick had served seven of his 28-year sentence for corruption. Kilpatrick was convicted in 2013 on 24 federal felony counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud, and racketeering.
