Next Level Wednesday – Becoming a Director of Public Information
ALPENA, Mich. — On today’s Next Level Wednesday ACC’s Director of Public Information and Marketing Jay Walterreit shares his journey and provides advice for entering the field.
Walterreit shared what his role entailed and said self awareness and empathy are essential. He adds that understanding who people are and being able to problem solve are also important.
Walterreit has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and said his grandfather wanted him to be an accountant.
A fun fact about Walterreit-he was interested in writing a novel at one point in his life and said that dream is still one he may pursue.
