League of Woman Voters Hosts Candidate Forum

The League of Woman Voters of Alpena County held their second candidate forum Tuesday evening at the Alpena County Library.

Candidates from the Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, and Green Party were all represented at the forum.

The conference room at the library was packed as interested voters asked their questions to candidates.

Those running for Michigan’s 1st Congressional District opened the forum, minus Republican candidate Jack Bergman who decided not to take part.

Questions for the candidates ranged from protecting Northern Michigan’s environment to how they will deal with immigration reform.

Following the congressional candidates were those running for the 106th District State House seat and those taking part in the race for Alpena Township Supervisor.

The League of Women Voters hosts these forums as a way of educating voters, and the group does not support or oppose any candidate.

Election Day is November 8th, and you can find more information on each and every race by visiting vote411.org.
