IWE’s Open Season for the Oscoda Veterans Park

OSCODA, MI – It was a show of action and fun that also raised money for a local cause.

Imperial Wrestling Entertainment held their Oscoda debut show “Open Season,” at the Oscoda High School Gym.

The show featured a wide cast of characters competing in front of an audience of screaming fans of all ages. Wrestlers such as Creature Feature, a Stuntman, and their IWE Champion, a Wildman.

IWE didn’t just stop at putting on a great show. The company in their Oscoda debut helped raise money for the Veterans Memorial Park of Northeast Michigan. Wrestler John Campbell says the most important thing IWE does when they put on events is to give back to the community they perform for.

“Well anytime we can come into a community and we can integrate ourselves into the community and raise money for a good cause, I feel like that IWE at its core.” said John Campbell.

Another wrestler, Stuntman Mike, spoke about the importance of giving the audience a great show and helping the community at the same time.

“We are the wrestling company that gives back,” said Mike. “All these people deserve what we’re going to give them tonight. A good show, a good benefit and a great time.”

The show itself produced a lot of memorable moments for the crowd including brand new tag team champions being crowned and fans getting the opportunity to meet the performers during intermission. Joseph Brinn of the Veterans Park helped make this wrestling show possible and it seems like Oscoda may be seeing more IWE action in the future.

“Events like this we try to do something 4 or 5 times a year. This is the first time for wrestling. It looks like it’s a good draw so we’ll probably do this again twice next year,” said Brinn.

It’s fair to say that IWE came into Oscoda and put on an amazing show for all the residents here and raised some money for the Veterans Park of Northeast Michigan. Creature Feature himself talked about how even people not familiar with wrestling can have fun at their shows.

“If you’re not a fan, when you come in the door, you’ll be a fan by the time you leave,” said Campbell

IWE will be returning to their home base at Houghton Lake December 18th. Visit IWEgladiators.com for all the details.
