ALPENA, Mich. — In just more than a week, northeast Michiganders have an opportunity to support the region’s non–profits.
Giving Tuesday offers a chance to center yourself and focus on your community. Now in its seventh year, the program is well on its way to becoming a tradition.
Starting midnight, November 30, you can go to the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan website and donate to your favorite non–profits.
Marketing coordinator Christine Hitch said the region’s giving spirit always blows her away.
“We’ve seen exponential growth in the campaign since we first started in 2015. The first year we did this, we raised about $31,000. And every it’s increased. Last year we raised over $233,000 in a 24-hour period.”
There are 60 non–profits in this year’s program, and the group which receives the most money gets courtesy of Grant, the golden goose.
You can see a list of participating non-profits on the CFNEM website.
