Imperial Wrestling Entertainment is coming back to Oscoda

OSCODA, MI – Back in November, professional wrestling made its debut in Oscoda when Imperial Wrestling Entertainment held their show, “Open Season.” IWE in their debut also helped raise money for the Veteran’s Memorial Park of Northeast Michigan.

That first show was such a success that IWE is returning to Oscoda this Saturday for their show “Spring Showdown.” If you missed out on their debut, this is the perfect chance to see some independent wrestling while also raising money for a good cause.

The main event for “Spring Showdown” will feature the IWE World Heavyweight Champion, Backwoods Bam, defending his title against Trevor Straud.

Bam has held the IWE Title for almost eight months now, and Trevor Straud is coming up on his one year anniversary since joining IWE. Straud talked about how he’s feeling returning to Oscoda, and if there’s any pressure going into his first ever singles match against Backwoods Bam for the gold.

“The last time Trevor Straud walked into Oscoda High School, he was with a team and we ended up victorious,” Straud said. “I plan on not changing that this upcoming Saturday.”

Straud says he feels no pressure at all heading into his first title match with Bam. While he said there’s a good reason the “Wildman” has held the title for as long as he has, Trevor Straud will be looking to end his reign this Saturday night.

The show kicks off at 6:00 with doors opening at 5:30, tickets are $10 at the door and kids 10 and under can get in for free.
