Alpena Fire Department warns against burning yard debris
Fires continue to consume parts of Northern California. 8 people have now died, including two firefighters.
ALPENA, MI. – Brush and debris buildup is inevitable in the spring time. The Alpena Fire Department is warning residents about the dangers of burning what’s in your yard. While burning debris may seem like the most convenient option, Alpena has a city ordinance in place against it.
Campfires are not completely off limits, but there are guidelines to ensure safe burning. The city provides alternatives to burning debris with leaf and debris pick –ups throughout the year.
