Guidelines for PPE on mental health workers
ALPENA, Mich. – We have all seen on various media outlets how nurses and doctors across the country are wearing PPE but what about mental health workers.
Over the weekend we covered a story about a mom who happened to be in the Alpena Walmart when she saw her son and his aid without personal protective equipment.
According to Nena Sork, Executive Director for Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health, they have been following CDC guidelines as information is given and updated.
Nena further explained that early on the CDC put out communication to wear masks only if you were sick.
NEMCM is currently requiring their healthcare workers to wear masks and she clarified when they do not need to so.
