Pancakes, planes and skydiving in Alpena

ALPENA, Mich. — Skydiving is such a unique activity and sport, but now resident have a chance to skydive in Alpena. In conjunction with EAA 1021, Skipper LLC is hosting a skydiving group on Saturday, June 22, the same date as the pancake breakfast at the Alpena County Regional Airport.

Residents can check out planes and meet pilots at the third longest runway in Michigan which is 9,001 feet. At the event there will be a WWII Boeing Stearman that is similar to the same plane that George H. Bush trained on.

The skydive will be a tandem jump at over 10,000 feet and will include a video. The outdoors and view will be a unique experience that residents can check out if they sign up with Corey Tillage who can be contacted at (231) 629-1922 or tiller9@yahoo.com.

The pancake breakfast begins at 8 a.m. and hotdogs will be served for an early lunch. The meal is open to the community for $6.
