Today the Alpena Public Schools Executive and Personnel Committee met to discuss a few items.
The most notable item discussed this morning involved the upcoming election.
Monday at their full board meeting APS will vote on a resolution that would formally announced their support for the renewal of the Alpena, Montmorency, Alcona Educational Service District Millage.
That Millage helps cover operational costs at Pied Piper School, and also pays for several programs, including special education services, school psychologists, and preschool services.
The AMA ESD also relies on the Millage to provide supplemental and direct services as well as critical financial support.
The proposal is for a 10–year renewal – election is November 8th.
