Get your reading glasses and grab your library cards as we celebrate national library week.
From April 9th-15th, Alpena County library, along with libraries all over the world, will celebrate the many ways that libraries transform their communities every day.
“This is just a week for our community to celebrate libraries and all that we do,” said Susan Jacobs, Alpena County Library Assistant Director. Some of those many things include STEM programs for all ages, access to digital resources, computer classes, and summer reading programs…in addition to lots of books!
Although the library sees many faces from the community, they would love to see more- especially during national library week.
“We have wonderful people that come in and we would love to know more of our neighbors. There’s always that open invitation for people to come in, get a library card, check us out see what we’re all about and maybe enjoy some of the stuff we have in the building,” said Jacobs.
