Alpena Board of Education votes for mask policy

ALPENA, Mich.– The Alpena Board of Education held their monthly meeting Monday night.

The main item on the agenda was the vote on policy 8450.1, which regards face coverings. The board voted in favor of the policy, making it official. The policy will allow the superintendent to mandate masks or other face coverings during epidemics or pandemics.

The policy also has guidelines for mask thickness, fabric types, and exceptions for special circumstances.
