Warmer temperatures Wednesday; Possible thunderstorms Thursday

Thick cloud cover has remained over Northeast Michigan and in combination with a breeze off of Lake Huron, shoreline temperatures were kept into the 70s all day long. Some areas to the west which enjoyed some more sunshine managed to reach the lower 80s.

The cloudy skies currently over most of Northern Michigan will begin to break apart overnight. Clearing skies from the north will take over tomorrow, with more sunshine throughout the day and warmer temperatures. The next chance of showers will arrive Thursday.

Temperatures tomorrow morning will start in the lower 60s, then warming to a high of 83 degrees in Alpena tomorrow afternoon. Most places in Northeast Michigan should warm up to the lower 80s, the only exceptions will be areas along the shoreline which may be limited to the upper 70s with a light breeze out of the northeast — off of Lake Huron.

Dry weather will last all day tomorrow as highs warm into the 80s across much of the area. A few scattered showers and a risk of thunderstorms will move through Thursday morning and afternoon. Slightly cooler temperatures will follow on Friday under partly cloudy skies. Dry weather and warming temperatures are expected this upcoming weekend.
