Warmer Saturday, then a cold front moves through Saturday night

A snowstorm moved through southern Michigan, where some areas picked up a half-foot of snow. We stayed dry in Alpena with increased afternoon cloud cover. Skies will be mostly clear tonight, and dry weather will last through Saturday afternoon. A cold front currently in western Canada will move toward the southeast, and increase the chance of showers late Saturday evening.

High temperatures today got up to 49 degrees in Alpena. Notice, the temperatures were cooler where it snowed today — highs reached 39 degrees in Grand Rapids and 36 degrees in Detroit. Winds out of the southwest will bring warmer temperatures for Saturday.

Low temperatures overnight will drop to about 27 degrees. Morning temperatures will be in the middle 30s with mostly clear skies. More cloud cover is expected in the afternoon and high temperatures will warm to about 55 degrees. Winds will pick up out of the southwest, around 15-20 mph.

Weather conditions will be great for spending some time outdoors Saturday morning and afternoon. A few showers are possible Saturday evening to early Sunday. Sunday will have cooler temperatures and drier skies late-day. Monday will start dry, but the chance of showers will increase in the afternoon and evening. Tuesday should be mainly dry, although a little cool.

Saturday will be mostly dry and warmer, high temperatures will climb to the middle 50s. Saturday evening to early Sunday, expect a scattered showers as a cold front moves through our area. Temperatures will be cooler Sunday, highs will be in the middle 40s. Monday will start dry, highs will get into the lower 50s, then a chance of showers will move in late-day.
