Rain moves in tonight, lasts all Wednesday, more showers Thursday

A storm system just to our west will move in overnight. It will stall over Lower Michigan and gives us soaking rain lasting nearly all day Wednesday and more scattered showers on Thursday. Northeast Michigan is in for very wet weather over the next couple days.

High temperatures today reached 55 degrees in Alpena. Meanwhile, it got up to 70 degrees in Saginaw and 45 degrees in Marquette. The cooler air is going to win for the next couple days.

Lows overnight will be near 40 degrees and rain will move in. Rain will be heavy at times Wednesday, and highs will reach only 48 degrees. Winds will come out of the east about 15 mph.

Rainfall amounts Wednesday will be 1.5-2 inches for most of Northeast Michigan, though some locally higher amounts cannot be ruled out. Thursday’s showers will produce additional rainfall amounts. Combined, we’re looking at rainfall totals of 2-3 inches across Northeast Michigan.

Wednesday will be wet and cool with highs in the upper 40s. Scattered showers are expected Thursday and highs will be near 50 degrees. Friday will be brighter and warmer, highs will climb to the upper 50s. Highs in the lower 60s are forecast this weekend.
