High temperatures today got up to 46 degrees in Alpena, that was before a light breeze off of Lake Huron kicked in and cooled temperatures by a few degrees in the late afternoon. Highs Tuesday will be in the lower 40s.

Cloud cover remained over Northeast Michigan during most of Monday, and Tuesday will start with lots of cloud cover. Highs pressure currently centered over Illinois will bring clearing skies around midday. Mostly clear skies are expected Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Low temperatures will drop to the middle 20s overnight. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 20s with mostly cloudy skies. The afternoon will be mostly sunny and high temperatures will reach about 42 degrees. Light winds will be coming from the southeast, keeping temperatures a touch cooler near Lake Huron, but areas farther inland could get a couple degrees warmer than the forecast for Alpena.

All of Tuesday will have good weather conditions to spend time outdoors. Wednesday will be dry during the daytime with increasing cloud cover as the day goes on. Late Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, a few showers are expected. But dry weather is forecast to return Thursday afternoon and continue all day Friday. (If heading outdoors, remember to keep your distance, at least 6 feet away from anyone else!)

High temperatures will be in the lower 40s Tuesday and cloud cover will decrease around midday. Temperatures will warm to the lower 50s Wednesday afternoon.
