Alpena Resource Recovery Facility sees success in collection events
ALPENA, Mich. – Alpena area residents are doing their part to help keep trash and large items off the streets.
The Alpena recovery Resource Facility (ARRF) has seen much success from its latest collection events.
The organization said they have collected a record number of trash and recyclables.
“In one day 3,500 tires, we also collected 18.66 tons of trash that people brought in that we collected,” said ARRF Manager Stan Mischley. “ People asks what am I getting for my 20 dollars on my taxes I pay for? It’s for something like this here.”
Mischley said they also collected over 50 thousand pounds of electronics. He said he is thankful to residents for not littering or dumping items in unsolicited places.
