Mask mandate for kids 2 to 4

LANSING, Mich. — A new mask mandate takes effect today for children ages two to four.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services extended its mask requirements in response to the rise in cases amongst younger Michiganders.

MDHHS is following recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control.

Health Director Elizabeth Hertel said the most important thing people can do right now is get safe and effective COVID–19 vaccines.
