Warmer Wednesday but it won’t last

A breeze out of the northeast kept temperatures cool along the Lake Huron shoreline. Highs reached 42 degrees in Oscoda and 43 degrees in Rogers City. Alpena had a high of 49 degrees, and it was slightly warmer farther away from the shoreline, highs got up to 53 degrees in Atlanta.

Some high-level cloud cover has moved in, but sunshine has also been peeking through. Dry weather will remain tomorrow, it will be partly cloudy and milder.

Low temperatures overnight will be near 28 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Morning temperatures will be in the middle 30s. Afternoon highs will warm to 58 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a light breeze out of the north. Evening temperatures will be in the middle to upper 40s.

Late-week, the jet stream is going to dive to the south over the eastern part of the country. That’s going to allow very cold air from northern Canada to move in to the Great Lakes region. Temperatures will be 15-25 degrees below normal Friday, and there’s even a chance we could see some snow showers mixing with rain showers.

Temperatures tomorrow are the warmest across the extended forecast. High temperatures will reach the upper 50s Wednesday afternoon. Thursday, there could be a brief morning shower but most of the day looks dry with highs near 50 degrees. A rain/snow mix is possible Friday and highs will be only around 40 degrees.
