Tips on your kids becoming financially savvy

ALPENA, Mich. — It’s Financial Literacy month and Author and President of Wenrich Wealth J.J. Wenrich shared why it is important for adults to be literate about their finances but also why it is just as important for kids.

Wenrick has been in the investment business for 20 years and credits his junior high teacher for introducing him to the markets.  He said over the years he developed ways of teaching adults about investing as if they were kids.  Wenrich said it is best to learn life skills when they are young and can make mistakes.

He recommends one of his favorite apps, Busy Kid,  for parents to educate their children on best practices for spending, investing and donating.

Wenrich said the best time to start teaching kids about money is when they stop putting it in their mouth.
