Scattered snow showers Wednesday; Warming up late-week

Scattered snow showers have moved through our area today. Generally, just a light dusting has been seen across Northeast Michigan although these snow showers have caused reduced visibility at times. We will get a break of dry weather overnight, then another chance of snow showers Wednesday morning and afternoon.

High temperatures today reached 37 degrees in Alpena, 43 degrees in Detroit and 27 degrees in Houghton. Winds out of the northwest will keep the cooler air coming into Northern Michigan Wednesday.

Low temperatures overnight will drop to about 21 degrees. A few snow showers producing very light amounts will be possible in the morning and afternoon. Morning temperatures will be in the middle 20s, and afternoon highs will reach about 39 degrees. Wednesday evening will be mostly cloudy with temperatures near 30 degrees.

For outdoor activities, Wednesday will be cool with a chance of snow showers. Thursday will be completely dry, and break of sunshine are also in the forecast for Friday. Temperatures will get warmer late in the week, for Friday and Saturday.

Wednesday will still be brisk and cool, highs will get to the upper 30s. Thursday is looking completely dry and highs will be around 43 degrees. After that, temperatures will get warmer — Friday’s high will reach about 47 degrees and Saturday will be in the 50s.
