‘Say Yes to Tennis!’ offering free tennis lessons at the APlex
'Say Yes to Tennis!' will provide free lessons for adults and children starting in mid-October.
Alpena — ‘Say Yes to Tennis!’ will be hosting tennis lessons for adults and children throughout the month of October at the Alpena Events Complex.
The goal is to expose the game of tennis to more people in northeast Michigan. With cold winters ahead, the APlex offers a perfect opportunity for people to get inside and keep exercising through the fast-paced, back and forth game. Children will receive three free lessons that will take place on Saturdays throughout the month. Adults will receive two free lessons on Fridays. APlex Tennis Professional Charlie Drury will be the instructor for the lessons.
“Tennis is a great way to have some fun, work on your hand-eye coordination, work on your movement, and most of all, it’s a lifetime sport,” said Drury.
Folks that are interested do not need to bring a racket or tennis balls. All equipment will be provided by the program. People that are interested should bring athletic clothing and tennis shoes.
