Real estate industry remodeled

ALPENA, Mich. – COVID–19 has certainly changed the way many businesses who have interaction with clients will operate once we enter our new normal.

Since Governor Whitmer’s executive order, real estate agents have not been able to show properties, go into homes for viewings and even transport clients to the showings.

According to Banner Realty owner, Margie Haaxma, there was no movement in April as a result of the restrictions.

Having to take out the personal touch of serving clients has left agents forced to embrace selling virtually.

Margie has been in the business for 40 years and said she has seen her share of fluctuations in the market.

She acknowledges that COVID–19 is a unique experience but is confident that her industry will not be defeated.

Margie said the new rules for realtors goes into effect may 7, 2020 which means only four people in a home at a time all using protective coverings over the mouth and hands.
