Michigan’s transition to green
ALPENA, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy announces three–part funding to replace different vehicle types. The funding totals 30 million and will replace commercial, mass transit, and transportation support vehicles with new models including electric and alternative fuel.
Funding to install shore power to vessels that operate within the Great Lakes will also be available.
EGLE Director Liesl Clark said that the transition to electric vehicles is gaining momentum. Clark added it is important that all types of vehicles make the move to alternative fuels or clean diesel.
