Michiganders ready to celebrate Winter free fishing weekend
Michigan- This weekend, Michiganders won’t need a fishing licenses to catch our friends underwater.
February 17th and 18th is free fishing weekend in Michigan. Fees are waived for all in the mitten state. Fishing regulations still apply but you can fish on any inland lake or the Great Lakes.
Free fishing weekends started back in 1986 with a Summer weekend. In 1994, an amendment was made to the rule to include winter fishing for those who love ice fishing. For those who like to fish in the summer, the free fishing weekend will be offered on June 9th and the 10th.
