League of Women Voters shares important reminders ahead of the August 4 Primary Election
ALPENA, Mich. — The League of Women Voters of Northeast Michigan is sharing important reminders ahead of the August 4 Primary.
The League wants everyone to be aware that in the Primary Election, voters can only cast a Democratic or Republican ticket. In addition, registered voters who plan to cast an absentee ballot, can view their ballot ahead of time online by visiting the Michigan Secretary of State website.Â
Dottie Haase, the League’s voter services chairperson, says in the coming week they are planning to host forums featuring candidates from Alpena and Alcona County who will be on the August 4 ballot.
“It’s one thing to be a voter, but to be an educated voter is really the important part of it,” said Haase. “We want you to vote, but we want you to know what’s going on and have some ideas about who’s running for office,” Haase said.
