Johns to start as new principal in July

 

ALPENA, Mich.— Pied Piper School will soon welcome a new principal and special education supervisor . Larry Johns is the newest falcon to join the flock for the upcoming school year.

Johns graduated from Excelsior and Mercy College and has a 30 year history working with special needs children. The new principal moved to Alpena a year ago and worked as the student support facilitator at Alpena Public Schools.

Johns official start date is July 1st when he plans to continue to build relationships between the students and the community. In the fall, classes may look a little different from the previous years.

Students could have a mix of online and face to face learning, but the final decision is still under review. Classes for Pied Piper students is set to begin August 31st.
