Local groups to launch vaccine answerline
NORTHEAST MICHIGAN — Alcona Health Center announced a new collaboration Monday with MidMichigan of Alpena and the Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency.
The three groups will work together to provide convenient and accurate information about vaccines to the public. Their main method of outreach? An information hotline launching in a few weeks’ time.
The partners say they want to eliminate misinformation and make vaccination more accessible.
“They’ll be able to call a number and connect with a registered nurse who will answer questions they may have about the vaccine. Then, if they’re ready, the nurse can get them scheduled for the vaccine right away. You don’t have to be our patient. It’s open to everyone in our community.”
Everyone within AHC’s 16–county coverage area will have access to the service once it launches.
