Forgotten Eagles of Michigan Annual Ride Around on Aug. 6

ALPENA, Mich. — Two weeks from now Forgotten Eagles of Michigan, Chapter 3, will be doing their annual Ride Around Michigan. This will be their 16th annual ride. Its designed to raise awareness about the veterans who have sacrificed for our country.

The three day ride will include multiple stops throughout the northern Michigan area, visiting veteran memorials. During these stops they will be holding raffles and accepting donations. This year’s RAM funds will be allocated to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund as well as a charity that will be named at a later date.

Vice President for Forgotten Eagles of Michigan Chapter 3, Richard Burk, says it’s important to honor those who have served our country because freedom is not free. “Freedoms not free because our fallen soldiers paid the ultimate price when they got killed in service. So, it’s never free. Someone had to pay a price to keep our freedom,” he said.

Friends, family, community members, and other veteran groups are welcome to join in.
