Fall hunting regulations reminder

ALPENA, Mich. — With the fall hunting season upon us, the Huron–Manistee National Forests is urging visitors to abide by hunting regulations.  Visitors hunting on the Huron–Manistee National Forests are required to have a hunting license issued by the Michigan DNR.

Hunters are required to adhere to regulations pertaining to off-road vehicles and campfires.

Public Information Officer, Joshua Veal,  reminds us of additional regulations that he feels are important for hunters to remember.  Veal adds why it is important to adhere to regulations related to campsites.

Veal added it is also important to remember to dispose of your trash because leaving it affects wildlife and increases the workload for employees.

If you suspect that someone is not complying with hunting regulations, Veal suggests contacting the local Michigan Department of Natural Resources office.
