Mr. Jonathan Bradley’s class dissected a deer heart Wednesday morning on Valentine’s Day.
“I try to make sure to point it out to everyone that you have a heart, what’s in the heart?,” said Lincoln Elementary teacher Mr. Bradley. “Kids don’t know what’s in their hearts. They just know it pumps.”
This fourth grade teacher has been dissecting hearts every year since he started working for Alpena Public Schools. He said Valentine’s day gives him the opportunity to learn about the heart in a scientific way.
“I can talk about the ventricles,” Mr. Bradley said. “I can talk about the atrium. I can talk about the veins. I can talk about the lungs.”
Watch and found what the kids had to say about spending their Valentine’s Day with a broken heart in front of them.
