Cyber Monday deal goes wrong
MACKINAW CITY, Mich. — A Cyber Monday deal turned out to not be such a deal for one Mackinaw Island ferry company.
Over 100,000 communications were sent in person and through Facebook alerting Shepler Ferry fans of their Cyber Monday deal.
According to President of Shepler’s Mackinaw Island’s Ferry Service, Chris Shepler, the administrator of their Facebook page noticed strange activity on the page. Shepler said it was a small detail that served as a red flag.
He wants people to know that it is safe to use their ferry services and said a red flag for consumers is asking for their credit card information to purchase tickets. Shepler added they will direct you to their website from their Facebook page and provide you with a code for a discount.
He said the police are involved and an investigation is ongoing.
