Highs today reached 39 degrees in Alpena and 41 degrees in Traverse City, Mich. Winds out of the north, albeit light, will bring in some cooler temperatures this weekend. Note that much of the U.P. was below freezing all day, the high only got up to 31 degrees in Houghton. So it’s not much colder, but some slightly cooler temperatures will be heading into our area.
Highs over the weekend will be in the middle 30s. Monday’s temperatures are looking close to normal with highs near 36 degrees. Then once winds become out of the southwest, that wind direction will drive warmer temperatures toward Northeast Michigan. Afternoon highs will reach about 40 degrees Tuesday, then in the 40s Wednesday.
Saturday: Mix of sun and clouds. Early morning temperatures will begin in the middle 20s. Temperatures will get close to 30 degrees in the late-morning. Afternoon highs will be near 34 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool to the upper/middle 20s.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, very little sunshine and a slightly cooler to start the day. Predawn lows will drop to the lower 20s. Late-morning temperatures will rise to the upper 20s or near 30 degrees. Afternoon highs will be close to 35 degrees. Evening temperatures will be near 30 degrees or in the upper 20s.
Monday: Looking nicer with some sunshine. Early-morning temperatures will be in the middle 20s. Late-morning temperatures will climb to the lower 30s. Afternoon highs will be near 36 degrees. Evening temperatures will be around 30 degrees.
