Art in the Loft Celebrates With Black and White Gala

Art in the Loft is inviting the public to join in celebration of its 15th Anniversary with the annual Black and White Gala.

This elegant affair will celebrate the fifteen years of effort Art in the Loft has put into cultivating a creative community in Alpena, while also acting as a fundraiser.

With the theme of the evening being black and white art, New York artist Judith Braun, whose art was selected to be featured at the gala, takes a moment away from her craft to illustrate what drew her to black and white art.

“I like to, like, limit myself to just a few things. And then look for all the possibilities within that. Because if I don’t limit myself it seems like as an artist you could go in the studio and just do anything anytime. So I chose the black and white because it still gives me completely infinite range of greys, and also because I’m using a material that’s also very essential to like, life. I’m using carbon materials. So I like this kind of like narrowing down to the very simple essentials and then looking for possibilities,” says artist Judith Braun.

Join art in the loft this Friday, and enjoy a relaxed, elegant evening with dinner, drinks, artful entertainment and a fund–raiser featuring mobile bidding, along with a few unique silent auction packages.

The evening begins at six pm and goes until eleven, and costs seventy-five dollars to attend.
