APS Selects Construction Management Company for Facility Needs Assessment

Alpena- The Alpena Public Schools board has selected a construction management company to help guide them through a facility needs assessment.

The board looked at 5 different companies and selected Wolgast Corporation. Wolgast works with schools across the nation, including many in Northern Michigan. They also have in office in Alpena. The company will work with the school system to understand what needs to be replaced, repaired, or added to the schools. Wolgast will do all of this pre-bond work free of charge. Once the needs are identified, the APS board will put a vote out for use of bond. If voters do vote to make improvements, Wolgast will then be contracted to help repair, add, or restore what is needed.

Voting is not expected until late 2018 and early 2019.
