Alpena Weather – June 5, 2018

Today’s temperatures were once again running cooler than normal, but that will change tomorrow. Winds out of the northwest have been providing colder air into the area. Observed high temperatures made it only into the lower 60s around northern Michigan.

Mostly cloudy skies hung around for most of the day, though a little extra sunshine has poked through the clouds late in the day. The clouds will continue to clear tonight and tomorrow.

Tomorrow will start off sunny in the morning, then a few clouds will move in for the afternoon. High temperatures are expected to warm up to 70 degrees around Alpena with a light and variable breeze.

A weak system from the Upper Plains will approach Wednesday night, bringing increasing cloud cover. There is a chance for a few showers early Thursday, though clearing skies are expected during the afternoon. Thursday will also be the warmest day of the week with a high of 74 degrees. We will have a dry end to the workweek with partly cloudy skies on Friday and a high of 68 degrees. A round of scattered showers is in the forecast for Saturday, but the second half of the weekend is looking drier with mostly sunny skies on Sunday.
