ALPENA, Mich.- Alpena’s Board of Trustees continued its research for restructuring the fire department.
Volunteer Consultant Ryno Scholtz presented a comprehensive intervention report at Tuesday’s meeting.
Sholtz said based on his research – he believes the department is sustainable.
“I don’t think it’s an unsustainable rocket ship if I could put it that way,” said Scholtz. “I think it’s definitely sustainable but it just needs to be tweaked and there needs to be clear leadership and management principles and practices put in place.”
With a new chief and new vision, the board said they are excited to start work on improvements.
With this latest research, the board can begin to work on a more formalized restructuring plan.
