ALPENA, Mich — The Huron Undercover Narcotics Team has located an Alpena man with multiple outstanding warrants.
Twenty–nine–year-old Jared Barnett was arrested for fleeing and eluding, and witness intimidation. He was also wanted for carrying a concealed weapon and having open intoxicants in his vehicle.
Barnett was believed to be staying in Ossineke at the time of his arrest. On October 2, Alpena Police located him during a traffic stop, but he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. K–9s were sent to track Barnett, but were unsuccessful, because he’d been picked up by his girlfriend. When the pair tried to leave the area, they spotted a patrol car and again exited their vehicle in an attempt to get away.
Police later found Barnett using surveillance methods. He is lodged at Alpena County Jail. Additional charges will be pursued by the Mormorency prosecutor’s office, pending analysis of narcotics found during a search.
