Alpena man denied new trial in sexual abuse case
ALPENA, Mich. — An Alpena man’s request for a new trial has been denied.
Walter Deneal Massengill was found guilty in 2019 of sexually assaulting his son– who was six at the time of the assaults.
Massengill, 61, was sentenced to a maximum of 75 years in prison and called for a new trial on the basis of improper evidence.
This past weekend, the Michigan Court of Appeals denied his request for a new trial and affirmed his sentence.
