ACC’s Van Lare Hall receives facelift

ALPENA, Mich. — The entrance of the main hall at Alpena Community College is in the process of getting a facelift and they had a walk through to view its transition.

Trustees and community members toured Van Lare Hall where the college is adding a new nursing facility.

The 8.7 million dollar project is about two–thirds along the way to completion.

Director of Facilities Nicholas Brege says this project was a long time coming and this is the most intense renovation the building has undergone.

Construction materials and machinery currently fill every part of Van Lare Hall.

Although they still have some ways to go toward finishing the project, this did not steal President, Don MacMaster’s joy.

MacMaster said ACC’s nursing program is stellar and has generated many of the nurses employed locally.

Both, the east and west half of the building are expected to be complete and open to students in March of 2021.
