Warmer temperatures moving in, and higher humidity late-week

High temperatures today got up to 80 degrees in Alpena, 84 degrees in Traverse City, and 90 degrees in Minneapolis. Warmer temperatures will move in Wednesday as there will be more sunshine combined with winds out of the south.

Overnight lows will be in the lower 50s with clear skies. Afternoon highs will be heading up to 86 degrees in Alpena. Most shoreline locations will be a little cooler with highs of 78 degrees in Rogers City and 80 degrees in Oscoda. Along M-33, highs will reach about 86 degrees in Atlanta and Mio.

Humidity levels will remain comfortable Wednesday and Thursday. Once the dew point goes above 60, that’s when it starts to feel muggier. We will notice higher humidity as of Friday and lasting into the weekend.

Wednesday: Sunny and warm. Predawn lows will be in the lower 50s. By the late-morning, temperatures will already be rising into the 70s. Afternoon highs will reach about 86 degrees away from the shoreline. Evening temperatures will cool to the 60s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and a little warmer. Predawn lows will be in the middle 50s. Afternoon highs will warm up to 87 degrees. Evening temperatures will gradually cool to the lower 70s and upper 60s.

Friday: Increasing clouds and higher humidity. Predawn lows will be in the upper 50s with clear skies. Temperatures will rise to the upper 80s in the afternoon with higher humidity and some clouds moving in.
