Owls soccer too much for Tigers, remain undefeated

ALCONA, Mich. — The Alcona Tigers Boys Soccer team was looking to become the lone blemish on the Oscoda Owl’s record on Monday afternoon.

But, the Owls has other plans. Aside from a hat trick from Jusrin Travis, the Owls offense was dominant.

In the first half, Alcona would nearly clear the zone after a Michael Wrona attack, but Owls’ Alec Apsitis was able to find the back of the net to push Oscoda’s lead to 2-0.

Wrona would then find Ben Rudolph, who misses his shot off the post, but Justin Travis was able to get behind Alcona’s Keeper and extend the lead. Travis would pick up another two goals in the second half, and Wrona would score one. The Owls would beat the Tigers, 7-0, and improve to 6-0 on the season.

“They key thing was our toughness when it went down to the line,” said Owls Coach Don Axline. “We’re playing really good hustle soccer right now.”
