Milder temperatures will move in Friday

Isolated rain/snow showers moved over Northern Michigan today, although amounts have been negligible. Mostly cloudy skies will continue tonight and into tomorrow.

Highs today reached only 39 degrees in Alpena, we had cloudy skies and winds coming out of the east, off of Lake Huron. Temperatures will get a few degrees milder tomorrow, and climb above 50 degrees over the weekend.

Low temperatures overnight will cool to about 31 degrees. Morning temperatures will be in the middle 30s. Friday will be mostly cloudy, and high temperatures will get up to 48 degrees. Light winds will come from the east, about 5-10 mph. Evening temperatures will be around 40 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

Saturday, a storm system coming out of the Southern Plains and moving northward will bring showers to southern and Mid-Michigan. The issue for Saturday remains seeing how far north the showers will reach. Based on the most recent data, there could be a chance of showers south of M-72 Saturday afternoon and evening. North of M-72, skies will most likely remain dry all throughout Saturday.

Friday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s. Saturday will be similar, mostly cloudy and highs around 48 degrees. Less cloud cover is expected Sunday and temperatures will be slightly warmer, getting to the lower 50s.
