Duties include running taped and network programming, inserting local commercials, taking satellite feeds, as well as running audio, teleprompter or cameras for our newscasts. WBKB, in beautiful Northeast Michigan, is seeking a full-time anchor and reporter. This is an entry-level position, but experience shooting video and anchoring is a must. The individual chosen for this position must be self-motivated, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile to produce quality content. Applicant will need excellent time management skills with the ability to turn stories quickly and efficiently.
Job Duties include (but are not limited to): Anchoring and producing newscasts – reporting on a wide range of community events – establishing contacts within the community – shooting events and news-related activities. The position is tremendously rewarding and is a great stepping-stone in the career of News Broadcasting.
Must possess a communications degree (journalism degree is preferable) and have the skills to film, edit, and write news stories. Previous internship experience is preferred.

Responsibilities : Produce weather reports on all platforms Monday through Friday, assessing forecast models to accurately and timely prepare forecasts. Maintain forecast elements and alerts on all platforms in addition to posting on company website.
Education/Experience: A College degree in meteorology or related science field is required, along with experience in producing and delivering clear presentations.

Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter
The WBKB Sports Department is seeking a full-time weekend sports anchor and reporter. This is an entry-level position, but experience shooting sports and being in front of a camera is preferred.
Our coverage is heavily centered on high school sports from a core group of schools in our viewing area. The individual chosen for this position must be self-motivated, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile to produce quality content. He/she will need to have good time management skills and be able to turn stories quickly and efficiently.
Job Duties include (but are not limited to):
-Producing and Anchoring sportscasts for the weekend news
-Reporting on a wide range of athletes and sports
-Establishing contacts within the community (Coaches, Athletic Directors, etc.)
-Shooting sports and sports-related-activities
-Co-hosting our Friday night football show during the fall
This job requires a lot of hard work and long hours. You will be required to work weekends, and during the busy seasons, you may have to work more than full-time. However, the position is tremendously rewarding and is a great stepping-stone in the career of Sports Broadcasting.
