Young Wildcats soccer team ready to conquer the turf

ALPENA, Mich. — This Friday, the Alpena Wildcats girls soccer team will play their first home game, since May 2019. Last year, all spring sports got canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Head coach Tim Storch is going into the 2021 season with a very young team.

“I’m very excited about the promise of our program,” said head coach Tim Storch. “I think we’re going to be fine. We just don’t know what everyone else is going to have, so we’re gonna have to find our way through.”

This young team is ready to get after it as they’ll look to make some noise throughout the 2021 season, especially in their home opener. “We’re looking forward to this Friday,” said senior Addi Marceau. “We think we’re going to be ok because we’ve been practicing really hard.”

Friday, the Wildcats will host the Cheboygan Chiefs at 5 p.m.
