Woman suffers injuries hiking at Rockport
ALPENA, Mich. — A 36–year–old woman hiking with her family at Rockport had a scare when she fractured her leg on the uneven terrain.
On Thursday afternoon first responders from the Alpena Township Fire Department rescued a woman hiking the giant rock piles.
First responders brought a stokes–basket to safely bring her off the rock hills.
According to county EMS Chief Bill Forbush, it took everyone working together to respond to this incident.
Forbush also said, it was the manpower and expertise that got her down safely.
The victim was transported to the hospital for further care.
