Woman Overdoses On Heroin In Parking Lot, Supplier Charged

Michigan State Police Alpena post say a 21-year-old female from Flint overdosed on heroin, while on a bus located in the Alpena Wal-Mart parking lot.

Police responded to the scene on M–32 and a short investigation determined that the female was overdosing on heroin possibly laced with Fentanyl.

The victim was transported to MidMichigan Medical Center after EMS personnel administered Naloxone an opiate inhibitor. While at the hospital assisting officers found the victim was in possession of marijuana and valium.

During the investigation on scene, troopers learned another 21-year-old female passenger on the Indian Trails Bus from Detroit, was in possession of heroin as well.

That 21 year old admitted to delivering a quantity of heroin to the victim, causing the overdose. The suspect was arrested on charges of delivery of heroin, delivery of a schedule four controlled substance, possession of heroin, and possession of a schedule four controlled substance. Those charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison or a $25,000 fine.

MSP troopers were assisted by detectives from the Huron Undercover Narcotics Team, as well as Alpena Township Fire and Alpena City Ambulance.
